3rd Grade Bake Sale Cupcakes
The third graders and the fifth graders were combining efforts for a bake sale today…raising money and awareness for the citizens of the Philippines. In the weekly newsletter from school it stated, “all donations accepted.” Third graders? Bake sale? I’ve heard all that I need.
Yep. This happened when I was clearing the work table to turn it into the photography studio. Nothing to do but toss them in the rubbish. It happens. I’ll be extra extra careful next time. |
I have such a soft spot in my heart for third graders. This transition year from being a small sprout at school to becoming someone new and learned is… dear to me. I have such fond memories of our kids at this age…including one kid. Everything he touched turned over. And he was rumply, no matter what.
Our kids at that awkward transition of third grade.

Back to cupcakes!
I tinted the batter and buttercream with Wilton’s Golden Yellow gel. |
The square topper is hazelnut & chocolate from http://www.ferrero-kuesschen.de/ and the other one is a Hershey’s Kiss. |
Vanilla Cupcake with Vanilla Buttercream. |
One of my favorite toppers is the Nabisco Animal Cracker. http://www.snackworks.com/products/product-detail.aspx?product=4400000379 |
I tinted the batter and the buttercream with McCormick’s red gel. http://www.mccormick.com/Spices-and-Flavors/Extracts-and-Food-Colors |
What a fun day. I got to bake and be creative. Some friends came over to help (I’m so lucky to have these semi-professional taste-testers!).
My life partner is Chief Cupcake Transport and drove me up to the school and walked’m in. We also shared with our friends at Starbucks. And, I stayed sober.
What an awesome project!! Beautiful cupcakes, great cause, and time spent with friends. Wish I could have been there too!!
I totally wish you could have been here! I miss you all the time. Love!!!
